[Solved] HDMI 5.1 - Bass not adjustable

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Arch Linux and I got a question smile
I bought a new AV-Receiver (Pioneer VSX-529) and I want to use the HDMI sound output of my graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX970). I have the installed the nvidia graphic driver.
5.1 Is working fine but I want to adjust the bass which is always at 100% even if I set it up to 50% the settings won't persist sad
It seems like something is overwriting the settings all the time.

everytime I adjust the bass in the gnome settings it jumps back to 100%

The idea of connecting copper from a computer to an amplifier makes me cringe a lot but right off the bat because of ground loop effect. Won't damage your equipment but can introduce noise - you might rather use the optical connector if this is a possibility.  From there the correct place to reduce the bass on the receiver.  HDMI (and optical) puts out digital data so it may not even be possible to change the bass coming out of the computer. 

That said, if you are ever tracking down a persistent hum in the system disconnect your computer first and your cable box second to find the culprit.

No, the code blocks are fine.   If they get too large, it is better to use a posting service like pastebin.  Even a large code block is usually small compared to a graphic.   At issue is that we have many members on metered or slow connections who do not want to waste bandwidth with unexpected pictures.
