GnuPG & proxy

I can't fathom why such respected and essential piece of software as gpg does not respect my proxy options.

gpg --debug-all --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --keyserver-options http-proxy=http://127.0.0.1:8118 --search-keys mex

The privoxy log is empty. Nothing is being printed about proxy to the stdout too.

This is madness submitting some keys to some servers signing all that with your ip addr.
