DroneKit is a new API for communicating with UAVs (Drones). The API is comprised of a large number of python libraries.
"DroneKit’s Python API helps you create powerful apps for both ground and air-based control of UAVs. The API makes it easy for your ground station apps to get information from UAVs and automate new kinds of flight behaviour. "
I attempted to collect the elements necessary to package this myself, but i could hardly get the kit working much less package it. The following links will take you to the instructions i followed when attempting to install the software.
The DroneKit-Python documentation is mostly straightforward.
The Getting Started page contains the information for installing DroneAPI.
Install instructions for SITL (Software In The Loop) are written for ubuntu.
