Lag in changing brightness in GNOME 3.16 with physical keys

Hello all,

I recently installed Arch on my laptop (an ASUS X401A) with GNOME 3.16 as a desktop environment. Everything runs great except for changing brightness using the function keys on my laptop: after I press the keys, some time will go by before the brightness actually changes and the HUD indicating brightness level appears. This has not been a problem in the past with Arch (or other Linux distros) on this laptop, and I can change the brightness with instant results by using the slider in the GNOME system menu. Has anyone experienced/got any ideas as to how to fix this?

I am having the exact same issue on Lenovo Y510P laptop running Gnome 3.16. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it? I did search on Google and through the Arch Wiki. I can adjust the brightness using the laptop functional keys. However they are very laggy similar to the OP's situation.

Ah yes that was the issue .. Using the LTS 3.14 kernel fixes the issue. I guess this is a tiny bug that I can afford to overlook and use the latest 4.x kernels. Thanks for your help.
