[solved] nouveau driver on load invalid rom contents - optimus laptop

Hello Forum,

I am trying to setup optimus prime with intel and nvidia gpus.

I have installed mesa, nouveau and intel drivers and added i915 to mkinitpcio.
When trying to manually load the nouveau module and automatically at boot, this error message is shown:

[  322.330190] nouveau ![   VBIOS][0000:01:00.0] unable to locate usable image
[  322.330213] nouveau E[  DEVICE][0000:01:00.0] failed to create 0x10000001, -22
[  322.330225] nouveau E[     DRM] failed to create 0x00000080, -22
[  322.330575] nouveau: probe of 0000:01:00.0 failed with error -22

Seems to be this reported bug in the nouveau driver:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89047
Applying the changes mentioned in the comments to the kernel fixed the problem.
