Brand-new build, GTX 760 connected to an HDMI port on a TV. Video looks/works great, no audio. nvidia-beta driver (and all the trimmings).
HDMI output is NOT listed from aplay:

Go into bios and disable integrated hda audio. That fixed my problem. Both the motherboard and the video card wanting to be the audio card made some kind of trouble. Try
