The symptoms: Running (Arch) Linux, my system consistently shuts down (harshly) when the battery percentage is still somewhere between 50-80%.
Trying to figure out the problem:
- If the power cord is connected, I don't get any shut downs.
- If I reboot after a shut down, it'll happen again within minutes.
- If I boot into the windows corner of my system, even after a shut down, I still have battery left and windows runs happily (the percentage shown in linux seems approximately accurate).
- I've tried several battery management settings (time managed, percentage managed, ...) it doesn't fix the problem.
- I get the same behaviour running Fedora or Ubuntu on this machine.
I've had this problem for months. It's manageable, if I keep my battery level above 80%, but it's very annoying. I've already spent hours trying to figure this out at various moments in the past, but I haven't gotten much wiser.
Which logs / other bits of information can help someone help me track this down and fix it? Suggestions would be very welcome.
