cd automount

I am unable to automount cds. I have followed instructions on using AHCI, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ud … udisks2.29 and autofs – no joy.
DVDs are automounting OK. I can mount CDs manually as root, but I'd like my computer to be wife-friendly.
Under KDE a dialog pops up with an option to mount the CD, but nothing happens when I press it. Cinnamon tells me it is impossible to mount a cd when pressing the drive icon in "Computer". Likewise Thunar fails to automount, although the option is set. It's not the question of permissions: when I login to a DE as root it doesn't help either.
If DVDs are mounted automatically, what's hindering CDs (no matter what file format)? I am using udisks2 and a rather standard system setup. Should I put a line in fstab?

Re: cd automount

Blank CDs and Audio CDs have no filesystem, so you can't mount them. If you can mount them manually, it should be possible to do this automagically.
Why do you need to mount these CDs? Can you create iso images out of them?

Re: cd automount

Thanks for your response Karol, but I never said I wanted to mount blank CDs. I just want my data CDs to mount automatically.

Re: cd automount

What does "udisksctl mount -b /dev/sr0" return?

Re: cd automount

Thanks lucke. Ordinary CDs miraculously started to mount in KDE after my post. There must be something unstable here.
I only have to mount udw CDs manually: 'udisksctl mount -b /dev/sr0' returns 'UDisks2/block_devices/sr0 is not a mountable filesystem'.
What can I do to be able to mount udw CDs also with a click?
