Gtk3 LXPanel replacement

I made Gtk3 LXPanel replacement, called vala-panel.
You can install it from AUR (package vala-panel-git).

Also it is available on GitHub in https://github.com/rilian-la-te/vala-panel

It have additional applets and extras, it also available on my GitHub or on AUR with me (rilian) as maintainer.

Screenshot of a panel with extras:

Re: Gtk3 LXPanel replacement

I tried it few days ago and it seems to be in alpha stage (some segfaults, lack of configuration). But if you are going to develop it, this can be the best replacement for lxpanel (which in fact I look for long time). So thumbs up . Good to have a separate topic for this for announce changes and discuss bugs and feature proposals. Btw. I noticed quite big difference in memory usage comparing to lxpanel (15.8 vs 26.1 on x64). I know it is gtk2 vs gtk3, but is it possible to optimize more the app?

Re: Gtk3 LXPanel replacement

Please post bugs to github. It is developed very rapidly:) About memory - I will see, but notice gtk2 vs gtk3 + gsettings vs libconfig + libpeas vs libfm.

Re: Gtk3 LXPanel replacement

Updates:

1. Panel now optimized (RAM usage is almost equal to GTK3 PCManFM)
2. Added monitors applet
3. Added launchbar configuration.
4. Appmenu is also optimized.

If you use it, please update GIT packages from AUR.

Always enjoy trying Archer grown programs, and I am currently searching for a panel to mess around with.

Excited to give it a try!
