Hi,
i was just toying around with espeak ... it works fine with plain alsa,
but as soon as i start jack, the output gets very distorted, with short
words stretched to seconds (sounds really creepy
).
Anyone experienced this, or found a solution ?
Regards,
n

You may need to fine-tune your jack configuration. Use standard jack from [extra] with the following parameters:
jackd -d alsa -p 512 -n 3This is a slightly high-latency setting but tolerable and usually works on most hardware without causing much distortion. You may increase the -p value to 1024 and try -n 2 as well.
Note: This assumes a single audio device on your system, a standard internal one.
Caveat: I have no experience with espeak + jack.

I need real, proper pen and paper for this.
