I have an Asus Q551LNB Broadwell i7-5500U laptop with hybrid Intel/Nvidia graphics and I am unable to get the Nvidia portion working(per the PRIME Arch wiki}. I initially tried the proprietary Nvidia drivers but my system failed to boot on it. I now have both xf86-video-intel and xf86-video-nouveau drivers installed per the Arch wiki and it is still not seeing the Nvidia card for use. Here is what I have to help diagnosis my situation. Any suggestions will be great!

The Nouveau driver won't recognize my card so I can't use Prime which is auto switching.

Have you tried this:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee
Apologies if this is all wrong, I've never used a discrete graphics card...

I've only had dedicated cards also... It does seem like a hack though. Each time I want to have the other card used {meaning I have to say to myself "Boy this sure could use my Nvidia card) I have to start it with:
optirun [options] application [application-parameters]It would be better if Prime could be used. It seems that is automatic switching when needed. I Googled the Nouveau errors but got nothing in English...
Edit: Here is someone using 'buntu getting the same errors, but no answers: http://askubuntu.com/questions/610345/s … l-behavior
