Alsamixer doesn't budge [Intel HDMI sound problem]

I was following the ALSA arch wiki for getting sound working, and when I got to the step where I should go into alsamixer, I (think I) successfully unmuted it, but when I hold up, or plus or even page up, the volume doesn't increase.

This is what alsamixer looks like. Even if I select PDIF 1, it still doesn't budge.

I have an intel nuc with the following sound card:

Intel® High Definition Audio (Intel® HD Audio)1 in the following configuration:
8-channel (7.1) digital audio via one HDMI 1.4a output

It has two HDMI ports (is that why aplay -l has two devices?).
Aplay -l

Help? I don't know where to go from here? Thanks for reading
