[SOLVED] Samsung universal linux driver and CUPS

I have a Samsung ML2525W and I have never had an issue with this printer- I've used it across many linux distros including arch linux in the past. I have actually been shocked at how easy it is to install and run given that it's a wireless printer that is fairly old.

However I am having trouble on this new install getting CUPS to find the drivers. I have installed samsung's universal linux driver and it appears to be successfully installed after some fiddling with dependencies, CUPS sees it but hangs on install and finally gives what might possibly be the least useful error message I have ever seen (ninjaprint is the name of the printer):

Anyone have any insight on this? Thanks in advance-
