[Solved] Debugging boot after install AMD catalyst drivers

Hey guys, I'm new to arch but have used Ubuntu/Debian for a fair few years.

I installed arch along with the Gnome DE earlier and everything was great, I installed the catalyst drivers following the guide on the wiki and they seemed to install fine.

However when I rebooted the boot just keeps hanging, I appended debug on to the boot line and this is where it seems to get stuck. Any advise?

Many thanks! smile

I suspect that Xorg log will be of more use. Also, are you using GDM as a display manager?

Re: [Solved] Debugging boot after install AMD catalyst drivers

I managed to fix it.

I used the Arch ISO to boot and chroot into my system, completely removed the driver and started from scratch.
It must have been a user error as second time round it worked flawlessly!

I'll take this as a nice easy warning to pay more attention as its not quite as forgiving as other flavors. With that said so far its been much more rewarding!

Thanks for the reply!
