The media library in ncmpcpp prefixes year in front of albums.
This creates a problem with compilation albums that contain songs from different years. In such a case, the album is split according to year.
In other media players, there will be total two albums, instead of all these parts. This image explains it better. ncmpcpp 0.5.10, on the left, is much cleaner.
How can I achieve this? I haven't been able to find a setting for album format in media library. I am using ncmpcpp 0.6.3-2 from official repos.
I have tried,
album_library_format (like song_library_format)
library_album_format (like tag_editor_album_format)
media_library_album_format
Also tried
media_library_display_date = no (from ubuntu utopic manpage)
but none of these seem to be valid options.
Further, the changelog for ncmpcpp-0.5.1 (2010-02-15) states:
>> make displaying dates of albums in media library optional
But I cannot find an equivalent config option.
It seems that media_library_display_date option was removed by this commit. I am back to nothing.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks.

Same problem here since using 0.6 and didn't find a solution yet.
It's really a mess, I really hate the new look now. I'm just happy that I don't have so much time to listen to music nowadays ![]()
If anybody has a solution, please tell us here.
