[audio] ryzom & enemy territory

Hello,

A small problem with enemy territory and ryzom: I have no sound.

I fiddled with enemy territory and-sdl-sound in vain.

I would like to find a viable solution for both.
I use pulseaudio with CK 4.0 kernel.
Anyway in /proc/ asound/card0/pcm0c/ I have no oss.

You play these games?

Dunno if this works without any kind of OSS emulation in the kernel (you'd have to recompile for that) but have you tried to run the corresponding program with

padsp $program

this is Pulse's OSS emulation, it may work, been a while since I've used it though

Re: [audio] ryzom & enemy territory

Thank you for your help.

I have already tried to start with padsp unchanged.

Bumping is discouraged
We suggest that if you wish to breath life into a thread, the best way is to provide more information.  Even what you have tried, or what you have read to try to solve your problem.

I am not a gamer and it is unlikely I can help you.  Perhaps you should mention what is your sound chip.  Are you using analog channels?  HDMI? Bluetooth? Stereo?, 5.1?   Laptop? Desktop?
New kernels help?  Different kernels help?
What processor?

What desktop environment or window manager? Xorg? Wayland?

Re: [audio] ryzom & enemy territory

To bring some precision, it is a laptop with as chip Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller.

I use pulseaudio and cinnamon.
And as kernel 4.0.8-1-ck but I also tried with the lts.

Should we not tinker with oss?

Re: [audio] ryzom & enemy territory

I installed this to get sound: http://nullkey.kapsi.fi/et-sdl-sound/

Install the libraries that provides: libasound_module_conf_pulse.so and ibSDL-1.2.so.0 for the i386 platform.

Then modify the script that you downloaded in the first step and change LIBSDL pointing to this library.

LIBSDL="/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libSDL-1.2.so.0"
