Hi
I would like to upgrade my HDD to a SSD. I am looking on the Samsung 850 PRO SSD and I have therefore some questions regarding Arch Linux and SSDs.
My first idea was to run two Samsung 850 PRO SSD in a Raid0 configuration - but then TRIM do not work. But Raid 0 and Samsung 850 PRO SSD in Rapid mode, is nearly equally fast. But is it possible to enable Rapid mode in arch? Maybe through Magician Software running in WINE?
Regards
Frederik

TRIM works fine with RAID (unless it has data corruption bugs like it was the case recently in Linux 4.0.x). But it's rather pointless to RAID (particularly 0) with SSDs. It probably won't improve access times and do you really need more linear throughput?
Not sure about Rapid mode but Wine anything with SSD is a bad idea.

Thankyou, but it just seems when I read online that it do not work.
