Error messages cluttering console after login dialog clears [SOLVED]

Here's an example of what shows up when it's time to login and the screen was just cleared (also appears several times elsewhere in the journal):

Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: exception Emask 0x0 SAct 0x4 SErr 0x0 action 0x0
Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: irq_stat 0x40000008
Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: failed command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: cmd 60/08:10:00:01:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 tag 2 ncq 4096 in
                                          res 41/40:00:07:01:00/00:00:00:00:00/40 Emask 0x409 (media error) <F>
Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: status: { DRDY ERR }
Jun 06 10:02:03 archdesk kernel: ata5.00: error: { UNC }

That's where a hard drive with some bad sectors is connected. I can't replace that hard drive right now, and it still works fine for the most part. It's not essential. (Also it's not the SATA cable, I checked.)

This appears once I've logged in:

usb 3-2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84
usb 3-2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep 0x84

That's when the webcam LED lights up, and I assume it's for its built-in microphone. Couldn't find what the cause was (this may be related, see latest comment), but the webcam actually works just fine.

Is there a way to get these error messages to be hidden? Or do I just have to deal with it until I get the hard drive replaced, and the webcam... removed?

Take a look at the first couple of sections in the silent boot article, they may point you in the right direction.

Edit - fixed link.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

That did it! The error messages seem to be at level 4, since I tried 4 and they show up, while they don't with 3. Thanks for the link!

EDIT: For future reference, this is a working link.
