This is driving me crazy.

Help me get drop shadows! 

I have gnome up and running my video card (ATI) is currently
working fine with the repository drivers and kernel.

So, I follow the direction on http://www.xfce.org/gtkmenu-shadow/ with out any success.
I did some research and pretty much all that I can find about this is the this website.

Is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction?

Just enable composite (I believe there's some kind of howto on the wiki). That'll give you dropshadows and transparency to top it off.

By the way, try making your topic titles a bit more descriptive in the future Also, I don't see how not having drop shadows would drive anyone crazy After reading the title I thought it'd be something like "harddrive corrupted" or "kernel panic: init not found" or something
