/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ instead of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

Hello,

As I'm configurating xorg I notice that /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ is empty. After generating a xorg.conf skeleton as suggested on the wiki I ask Google about it to find on unix.stackexchange that the X config files are located on /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ instead of /etc/xorg.conf.d.

Given that both Xorg's and X Keyboard's mention /etc/xorg.conf.d, shouldn't we change all references to /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d ?

(PS: only now that I'm checking the hyperlinks for this post do I notice the note about /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xorg#Configuration … Why put it in a note and keep all the references wrong?)

Re: /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ instead of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/

X still reads both directories. As stated on both the wiki and stackexchange, the /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ path is meant for default configuration (usually provided by packages) and /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ is meant for system-specific (in other words user-made) configs.

Makes sense. I'm adding your answer to the note on the wiki for more clarity.
