linux-mainline-ck?

Is it possible for the mainline kernel releases to use the ck patchset? Specifically, BFS with the new 4.1 kernel? I notice that it doesn't include patches for the mainline versions of the kernel. Is it impossible to patch mainline kernel with BFS and the other -ck patch sets?

Re: linux-mainline-ck?

The arch packages are as clean and close to mainline as possible. I doubt this would ever happen. You can always add the [repo-ck] in pacman.conf and sync it for linux-ck-{architecture}.

Re: linux-mainline-ck?

The ck patchset is not available for the mainline branch, only for the most recent stable. You'll have to port the patches by hand if you want it.

Re: linux-mainline-ck?

How would I go about porting the ck1 patchset to 4.1?

Get the kernel source, get the patches and learn what you have to change to get it working. Or simply wait until 4.1 is stable and the patches are released.

Re: linux-mainline-ck?

I tried to patch 4.1 kernel with the ck1 patch, and got some hunk errors, so I tried just the BFS patch alone and it produces hunk errors as well. I don't know what to change to make it work, so I will just have to not use the ck1 patchset.

Re: linux-mainline-ck?

You can just wait for most probably a week and you'll have a 4.1 kernel with -ck in [repo-ck] anyway.
