Hello everyone,
I recently bought an Intel NUC, the one with an i7. I had quite a few problems getting sound to work. I first had openSUSE installed and no luck there (you can read the whole story here.)
Now I've installed Arch and the sound works mostly, but I still have some minor issues. For example, when I watch a movie on Netflix or a Youtube video, it takes a few seconds before the sound starts. This also happens when I pause the movie/the video and press play again.
Then the system sounds don't work and I kind of like to have some feedback in audio form.
And today I've installed Mednafen, also no sound on this one.

I'm using KDE and in the KDE soundsettings, everything appears to be correct. At least in my newbie eyes.

Update: I managed to get the sound working in Mednafen. I had to switch the audio backend to everything else but ALSA. It's really strange. As for the system sounds in KDE, they work sometimes. Sometimes I get a notification sound out of nowhere. And I really like some audio feedback in a DE. I use VLC as the backend in Phonon. I can't choose another one and wouldn't know how to install another one.
