Skype using Microsoft account

I can't login using my ms account to skype. I tried on another pc and it works. I was able to login before but I don't know what changed. Login using skype account works so I think there's something wrong with the https access while logging in on skype using microsoft account. If the password is incorrect, it tells me that something is wrong, but when everything is correct, it gives me the error "Sorry, we didn't recognize your sign-in details. Please check your Skype Name and password, then try again".

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

Haven't they changed the Skype Name to your registered email now ? I do believe. Did you enter your email or skype name ?

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

You have to signin in your browser, there is a change in the service terms and you have to accept that in your browser (it makes skype crap out apparently), after that you can login in skype again.

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

Unfortunately, this is not correct. I'm facing the same problem, however, it does not manifest when running Mint (in my case). Even deleting the ~/.Skype folder does not work unfortunately.

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

Then it's broken again ... I have experienced something similar before and I got around it by logging in on skype's website, where I had to agree to new service terms before being able to proceed.

As far as I can see, neither of those packages are listed as dependencies of Skype, so something else seem to be wrong here.

Can also confirm that logging in with a Microsoft account doesn't work at the moment.

Right on the money, it seems the change introduced in ca-certificates-mozilla-3.19.1-2 breaks things for skype. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for MS to make this work - I suppose that would mean upping the security. What is funny is that skype works fine with skype logins.

Perhaps it's time to change to a skype account instead, but I have a feeling the Linux version is going down the drain as there hasn't been any updates for a long time. Probably time to look for an alternative.

For now, I can confirm that downgrading to ca-certificates-mozilla-3.19.1-1 fixes the issue.

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

Downgrading is not a good idea, specially because it seems the change is security related [1]. Also I think you can't create new skype accounts anymore, it's either MS accounts or nothing.

There's an update to ca-certificates-mozilla today.  See if that changes anything.

Re: Skype using Microsoft account

Version 3.19.2-2 (currently in testing) solved the issue, see https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit … 22c8fb4bb7.
