[SOLVED] I cannot run a new X display

Hi!

I get a new Arch installation with XFCE4, without a session manager.

I'm trying to execute firefox, qemu or galculator in a new display instance but it's not possible.

How I can fix it?
Thanks a Lots!

$ xinit firefox -- :10

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot run a new X display

Are you running xinit from X or from tty? Did you try appending

vt$XDG_VTNR -keeptty

to your xinit command? Why ':10'? Did you try a lower DISPLAY number?

What's in the X log?

Re: [SOLVED] I cannot run a new X display

Karol, yes! I'm running xinit from a tty.

Appending

vt$XDG_VTNR -keeptty

to xinit firefox -- :10 launch a new instance of xfce.

I deleted my .xinitrc (that haves a exec startxfce4) and worked well!!

thanks!
