Getting drives to function

I can't get any usb drive or hard drive to properly mount.  This is what I see when I plug in a flash drive that I'm trying to reformat.

It's installing to /run/media/ instead of /media/, and I get "device or resource busy" when trying to delete anything on it.   Also /media/ is a mess, lot's of residual folders remain of devices that were connected but not anymore.

[lee@study lee]$ ls /media

Re: Getting drives to function

This is a Raspberry Pi? What is handling the automounting? Please provide details about your setup...

Re: Getting drives to function

Not raspberry pi, the system is arch, the drive insterted is a raspherry pi card that I want to erase and format to something else. My guess is there are some conflicts that keep drivess from mounting properly  Here's the log fot another flash drive insered and removed into the usb port.

journalctl
