Fujitsu Laptop

I have an old Fujitsu laptop with the dreaded SiS 771/671 graphics card. All I want to do with the laptop is to use it to play DVD's as it has a DVD drive. I have been told that arch has a sisimedia driver. My question is thus, would this driver be enough to give me decent DVD playback? I have installed Kubuntu 12.04 and 11.10 and installed the sis671 driver and although I can get the 1200x800 screen rez, I can not play any DVD's as it's hardware acceleration is pants!

Your thoughts, is much appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Fujitsu Laptop

Have you tried using the xorg file from this post in your arch install ?
