[Solved][Bluetooth adapter unknown] Bug following system upgrade

Since today, I am no more able to use my bluetooth devices... I have instead this error:
"bluetooth: hci0: unexpected EPATCH signature!"
And KDE displays me the following thing:

I am wondering what is the meaning of this?

Yesterday, I have made an update with the following content:

Do you see something which could break bluedevil? Should I report a bug on archlinux? On KDE? Elsewhere?

Cheers,

Re: [Solved][Bluetooth adapter unknown] Bug following system upgrade

No one has any clues? It was working great before, even better than with windows. And now it is just not activable:

~ » bluetoothctl
[bluetooth]# power on
No default controller available

I have seen the same error on these gitlab issues :
https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au_bt/issues/32
https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au_bt/issues/18

But I am not using this package, so it is not helping me at all!

Re: [Solved][Bluetooth adapter unknown] Bug following system upgrade

Got the same error since the last kernel update.

Output of dmesg:

[ 10.598806] Bluetooth: hci0: rtl: examining hci_ver=06 hci_rev=000b lmp_ver=06 lmp_subver=1200
[ 10.598807] Bluetooth: hci0: rtl: loading rtl_bt/rtl8723a_fw.bin
[ 11.152410] Bluetooth: hci0: unexpected EPATCH signature!

Maybe there have been some modifications with the driver, do you have the same device? (rtl8723a)

Edit:
I installed the driver from https://github.com/lwfinger/rtl8723au_bt and bluetooth works again for me.

Got the same device too.

[ 1.684290] Bluetooth: hci0: rtl: examining hci_ver=06 hci_rev=000b lmp_ver=06 lmp_subver=1200
[ 1.684292] Bluetooth: hci0: rtl: loading rtl_bt/rtl8723a_fw.bin

So installing this driver looks like a good solution, I will try to install manually the driver today. I hope it will just not break anything with the next updates.

Someone has an idea where to report this issue in order to be taken into account?

Re: [Solved][Bluetooth adapter unknown] Bug following system upgrade

I confirmed that installing this driver solved the issue however.

Re: [Solved][Bluetooth adapter unknown] Bug following system upgrade

Keep in mind, that whenever you update the linux kernel, you will have to manually install the drivers again.

I was also thinking of reporting the problem, because everything worked just fine before the kernel update, but I had no time today.
I think the drivers/bluetooth section at https://bugzilla.kernel.org is a good place for a report.

Edit:
Realtek hardware is actually a pain in the ass in linux, for example my wireless card is also a realtek one.
In Windows, I have almost perfect wifi signal, but on my arch installation it's only about 50 % signal quality.
Installing the drivers from the site i mentioned previously also didn't help, so i have to live with it I guess.

Edit2:
I ended up installing the linux-lts kernel, because I had troubles even after I installed the driver from lwfinger mentioned above.
The bluetooth device was detected fine, but I had troubles, for example when powering on the device with bluetoothctl.
With the lts kernel, everything is working fine.
