DELL LATITUDE E6430 - No sound when launching VLC or Kaffeine

Hi everyone,

First of all, I'm sorry if I didn't post in the right section, I thought it might be the right one since my problem seems to be related to some hardware problem.

So here is the problem :

I am using a DELL LATITUDE E6430 since 3 years with Arch Linux running on it. Until a few months ago, I've never had any problem with my sound card. But since a few months, most of the time I launch VLC or Kaffeine, or any other software. Sometimes, the sound is still there and there is no problem.

But today, the problem has grown bigger : everytime I launch VLC of Kaffeine, not only the sound disappears from the video or the film, but I cannot watch any video on the Internet. I tried to launch

alsamixer -c 0

and set everything to the max and un-muted everything but still, the sound is not working.

I have to log off and log on to get the sound working again.

As it utterly annoys me, I am 200% dedicated to provide to you any piece of information which should be valuable in order to help me fix this problem.

Thank you in advance.
