Wrong keyboard layout

Hello,

i installed Archlinux with Plasma last night and used the Beginnersguide (german version) to configure my system.
During the installation I already changed the keyboard layout. But after starting my desktop (Plasma) it changed back to the english layout.

What I did now is  that I logged out and logged in with the root account to perform following commands again

echo LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 > /etc/locale.conf
echo KEYMAP=de-latin1-nodeadkeys > /etc/vconsole.conf

Before I installed Plasma and configured my system I used this command as shown in the german beginnerguide

localectl set-x11-keymap de pc105 de_nodeadkeys

The german keyboard layout is only working when I completly log off and go back to the shell.

localectl gives me following output

[serhat@serhat ~]$ localectl status
   System Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8
                  LC_COLLATE=C
       VC Keymap: de-latin1-nodeadkeys
      X11 Layout: de
       X11 Model: pc105
     X11 Variant: de_nodeadkeys

I checked all configurationfiles so far but still have no clue where I made a mistake.

Thanks and best regards
serhat

Re: Wrong keyboard layout

I don't use KDE anymore, but if I remember correctly, there should be an option to change the keyboard layout in System Settings > Input Devices > Keyboard

By the way, welcome to the forums smile
