Recommended video editor for counting time and fast forward video

Hi,

I just want to use any video editor which has two features:
  - counting time (probably in fast forward)
  - fast forward video (x2, x3, ... the velocity of the original video).

Good if I could put text overlaying the video.

Can you recommend some? I don't know which I have to choose.

Thanks in advance,

There is just one correct answer here: try them yourself. They are easily installed and uninstalled, so give them a whirl.

It's because I don't want to try and test every application. Recommendation is always better. But thanks for all.

There are 11 applications on that list, of which there are two transcoding only, so nine applications to try filter on the things you need. Surely that is manageable?

That being said, I've heard good things about kdenlive although I do no video editing myself.

Though I can't make a specific recommendation, Blender does video editing as well -- and some people say it's one of the best out there on Linux.
