hello everyone, Alright so this is my second day trying to get arch installed and im almost there i am installing on a macbook pro retina 10,1 model and its arch only i have everything completly set up i have the video driver for intel installed ive tried kde and gnome when i try kde or should i say plasma as soon as i install sddm and enable and reboot it freezes at the archlinux sign in screen and at that point im unable to do anything. I have to boot back into the love media and use that to uninstall sddm after that im boot back into archlinux no problem. Also i am using gummi boot as my bootloader. I am really stumped on this. I would really like to get plasma working because you can do a lot to fix the tiny icons that come with a retina screen. Well thank you in advance for any help. If i have left out any other important info i am sorry just let me know what you need to know, thanks again.

Xorg log and journal will tell you why it is freezing...
Not an Installation issue, moving to NC.

I'm not on a macbook and rarely use KDE. I did enable sddm.service and found it did lock up, and give a pop up terminal I couldn't use, when I tried to log in. After a reboot I noticed sddm had preselected 'failsafe' in the top left, when I changed this to plasma all was well. Have you tried starting plasma/kde from .xinitrc with startx without sddm?

If the item you are searching for is a deacent display manager, try lxdm.
