I think kde 3.5.2 is in testing. Any idea when it will hit extra so I can upgrade?

If you can't stand waiting, then move to [testing]. Arch is already quite bleeding-edge and [testing] is even more. It's really stable, but of course some hick-ups happen, but they're rather a rarity. Plus, you'd be able to contribute bug reports about problems found in [testing] so they can be ironed out.
As for KDE 3.5.2 it's really stable. Finally the ugly kicker error during shutdown stopped appearing.
