problem with your internet connection?
openoffice is a big package so this might happen.
or mirrors are broken.

havent had any problems with the net in other situations.. anyway.. downloaded the package through firefox.. installed ok..

just cant understand why i cant download it with pacman.. tried using wget too.. are there any tools to check for problems with my net?

(sorry tpowa for bothering you with a bug-report for a non-existing bug..)

other situations? Most mirrors are ftp-server. Maybe it is only a ftp related thing.

Tools for checking are ping and traceroute.

Re: openoffice-base-2.0.2-2 is corrupted

Next time pacman gives you a message about a corrupted package, remove it from the cache and then try to install it again. Using openoffice-base-2.0.2-2 as an example, here's how you would do this:

rm /var/cache/pacman/pkg/openoffice-base-2.0.2-2.pkg.tar.gz
pacman -S openoffice-base

It should download and install correctly.
