I find this quite weird, so basically when I play some sound in firefox (whether its youtube or whatever) Skype and couple other applications lose sound completely which only gets restored after firefox is closed.

alsa-plugins installed: no
pulseaudio-alsa installed: no
installing them now
its 100% html5 stream
gonna check the other gstreamer 1 based players if same results is achieved
edit: installing pulseaudio-alsa & alsa-plugins fixed it. Thanks !

Firefox usually uses pulseaudio directly if it is a html5 stream, flash will use alsa and has to be wrapped with the alsa-plugins/pulseaudio-alsa so either your gstreamer is misconfigured or the html5 stream was, in fact, a flash stream. However don't forget to prepend SOLVED to the title of your thread
