Xauthority is stopping Slim from working

so Slim well work for a few startups then I will randomly get a black screen and have to exit slim login and startx manually if I then go and delete .Xauthority in my home directory slim will start working again. I can't figure out how to get past this

Re: Xauthority is stopping Slim from working

Put "shebang" to your .xinitrc at the top of file:

#!/bin/sh

Make sure that the file is executable:

chmod +x .xinitrc

Post also:

cat /var/log/slim.log
cat /etc/slim.conf

What is the result when you run startx command on TTY?

startx
