KDE desktop installation error

I have installed Xorg, installed sddm display manager, then installed KDE from the plasma-desktop package in the AUR. (In that order)
Upon logging in as a user in sddm, a graphical error window appears.

The following installation problem was detected when trying to start KDE:
No write access to $HOME directory (/home/username
KDE is unable to start

Following this, it freezes, and I am forced to change tty.

Re: KDE desktop installation error

The error is self-explanatory: change your perms.

Moving to NC...
