I have been looking for a driver for the rt3290 bluetooth card. All I could find was deprecated solutions and disappointed users, and AUR drivers don't seem to work on some hp laptops. So I tried and patched one of the sources I found on the net for the current kernel.
The solution was quite straightforward, however I am a novice in kernel issues so I don't expect perfect stability on this one. Support for older kernels may be affected (specially if kthread is not supported).
I tried the driver and worked fine, I could send files from my computer and play music from my phone in my laptop (very lagged but my phone is quite old). No panics by now.
I hope this helps those who own a rt3290 card and can only enjoy the WiFi side. I am willing to attempt to fix issues as long as I have time, and of course I accept suggestions.
