Chromium tabs don't refresh

Lately I'm having a problem with chromium. When I have more than one tab open, and I switch from tab to tab (via ctrl+tab) chromium doesn't always refresh the view. Let's say i'm browsing the arch forum and I open a few discussions I want to check out. When I then decide to move to the new discussions to read, i still see the view of the first page i was on until, in some way, I force the tab to refresh by scrolling or resizing the window.

Anyone else with this problem?

Re: Chromium tabs don't refresh

Yeah, chromium has become somewhat buggy. I notice all kinds of little strange things quite often. Have no clue, how to debug them...

Re: Chromium tabs don't refresh

I update my Arch systems daily and starting seeing this bug somewhere between 13th to 23rd July on both my Broadwell laptop and Ivy Bridge PC. Changing from SNA to UXA will stop the problem but I lose smooth GNOME shell overview animation if I change that so have been putting up with this annoying bug all day every day.

Many times the tab will not refresh at all, sometimes it redraws partly with a mix of tab content, Sometimes the tab will redraw fully or partly a few seconds later. Sometimes the top menu tab bar is corrupted. You will find this bug documented elsewhere e.g. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91558. Many people suggest that enabling "Use system title bar and borders" stops the problem but that is incorrect, it makes no difference. I have also experimented with a number of chrome://flags gpu options without success.

I have this issue too. It seems to happen almost exclusively when I have a graphically intensive application (i.e. a game) open on my other screen.

It happens on my laptop which has no other screen. It also happens on my dual screen PC when I have nothing on the other screen, or just one or two terminal windows.

Re: Chromium tabs don't refresh

I set chromium to use the system title bar instead of it's default one and the tab views are refreshing correctly. I have no idea why this is happening. Anyone?

Re: Chromium tabs don't refresh

Just to follow up here, this bug still exists in an updated Arch system as of today. However, as recently stated in the bug I referenced above adding "CLUTTER_PAINT=disable-clipped-redraws:disable-culling" to /etc/environment definitely stops the problem on Arch GNOME.
