Failed to initialize alpm library (could not find or read directory)

I was trying to install yaourt on my PC (building it from source). After that, there were no errors in the installation, but I am getting this error since then. I have tried reinstalling it, but its not working.

Even when executing package-query, this error is showing up. I purged all the alpm libraries and reinstall pacman from live USB also. But still no luck.

Any idea how to fix this?

yaourt uses package-query , the error is likely with package-query itself.
Have you tried building pacakge-query yourself ?
