Problems with network shared cache

Hi folks.
I have some problem in downloading packages from a network shared cache. As suggested here I installed darkhttpd to serve the content of a Virtualbox shared folder, linked to my host's /var/cache/pacman/pkg. Then I put the IP address 127.0.0.1:<port> in /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist. It works, but after some success download it freezes saying that operation is too slow; to download packages correctly I wrote the address twice, but that slows down a lot the whole system updating. Any ideas?

404 errors are normal because these packages are not installed in the host machine
