[Solved] Problem opening inkscape

After I installed inkscape, I had some problems opening it with the imagemagick and poppler libraries. After fixing those problems, now I get this message when I run 'inkscape' and I have no idea what's that.

inkscape: symbol lookup error: inkscape: undefined symbol: g_type_check_instance_is_fundamentally_a

That makes me wonder if that might be related. How did you install inkscape, what were the problems and how did you fix it?

Re: [Solved] Problem opening inkscape

I installed inkscape via pacman. The problems where

inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler.so.56: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

and another one with some library in imagemagick I can't remember. The only thing I did was to install poppler and imagemagick via pacman.

By the way, I think that poppler also messed up my emacs + auctex configuration, I don't know how.

Re: [Solved] Problem opening inkscape

You mean I should run 'pacman - Syyu' and reinstall all the packages? I did that before installing the packages.

Re: [Solved] Problem opening inkscape

Partial upgrades are unsupported.

Fix your yaourt issue and stop truncating your output to misrepresent the commands you are actually typing.

Re: [Solved] Problem opening inkscape

Ok, thank you. It took me sometime to fix and update everything but that was indeed the problem.
