Libreoffice 5.0.1-1 writer closes all of a sudden.
Arch 32 bit, Openbox.
Tried one of the following at a time in ~/.bashrc (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LibreOffice#Theme)
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen lowriter
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk lowriter
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 lowriter
but the problem didn't go away.
I first thought this happens, only when I try to use spelling, but now I find that it happens all the time.

Do you have the experimental features enabled? If so does the problem persist if you disable them?

How do I enable/disable experimental features?
Edit: found it, the experimental features were disabled by default.
The problem persists. If I try to check spelling, it goes off immediately, otherwise it goes off all of a sudden.

Sorry, please see my edit in the earlier post. I did everything as in that wiki page, but the problem persists.

Which spell checker language packs are you using. Do you have any themes, customisation etc.?

Language packs, US, GB, and PL. No customisations. Theme is Galaxy.
The Openbox theme is Clearlooks.
I just installed LibreOffice.
I have Arch for about 2 weeks.

I have all the hunspell packages installed. The problem is; Libreoffice writer goes off all of a sudden, whether or not if I try to check spelling. Some dependency is missing. I don't know what it is yet.

Sounds like some bug. Run it from a terminal, let it crash, and post the output here.

I'm having a similar issue here with calc - downgrading to 5.0.0-1 fixes the issue.
I can reproduce the issue reliably by highlighting a series of columns and attempting to right click. It just closes - no warning or error.
It doesn't matter which sheet it's in. Running from the command line does not give me anything useful (see below). I've put the gdb trace log up here: http://pastebin.com/Th9Q9Raj
Hope this helps someone!

@vivitron,
How do I downgrade LO to 5.0.0-1?

Are you using -fresh or -still? I use still and have no problems at all.

Fresh. That's why the LO number 5.0.1-1
Maybe, I should also use -still

Sorry, missed the version number. Maybe try still to see if there's still an issue. It could help you narrow it down.

Have a look at what journalctl says after LibreOffice closes, and see if the .so failing is the same as here:

Decided to install LO-still.
It doesn't have the problem LO-fresh had.

I'm running -fresh as well.
@chdslv
I use downgrader so its easy to downgrade a "broken" package. There are alternatives - I haven't researched it in a long time. I find it essential if you are using arch on a work machine: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/downgrader/

What does
echo $LANG
give?
vivitron: You might mant to recompile with debugging symbols, and send the trace upstream.

Alad:
$ echo $LANG
en_US.UTF-8
If I can find the time today, I'll send it upstream.
Thanks!

@chdslv - Sometimes, when something is wrong with Arch's package libreoffice-* (fresh or still, nevermind), the good idea is try to install libreoffice-fresh-rpm from AUR. It's repacked version of upstream's libreoffice RPM pack.

Try to use gtk instead of gtk3, which still seems to be a tad unstable https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/LibreOffice#Theme

Same issue on extra/libreoffice-fresh 5.0.2-3. Arch Linux i686.
Took the silly of me hours to realize I was workin on a client station via ssh. houda!
Sooo at the end
1) Runs fine (as it seems) in the main computer (i3-wm) with:
* former config, as with a default freshly recreated new $HOME config.
* `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk` or `SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 lowriter` as suggested in the wiki or in https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question … -crashing/
Before applying settings, crashed whether on a clean 2 pages as on an heavier 400 pages half in Arabic with index and formatting ODT documents :
- when pressing the cursor or PageUp/Down when into the document (does not crash when on the top),
- when resizing writer's window,
- when reactivating "Edit mode".
2) with above settings applied, still crashes when opened through ssh on a Gnome3.2 Fedora box.

Hey,
Check the wiki, at the end you'll find the solution. The solution has been added yesterday -> Delete ~/.config/libreoffice
