Hi there!
I am going to do a fresh arch installation, and i want to try to build glibc with increased DTV_SURPLUS. (I need this because of the following problem with UnrealEditor:
- https://answers.unrealengine.com/questi … memor.html
- https://answers.unrealengine.com/questi … artup.html)
BUT i have no idea where to start... maybe someone can lead me to a step-by-step tutorial/guide or write down some hints.
cheers
moesi

The `)` on the end of your link make it invalid.
See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Makepkg
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Arch_Build_System
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Patching_in_ABS
Once you have arch installed those links should provide the info to build a patched glibc ( which it is then your responsibility to keep up-to-date )
If you need more help building the package please provide the PKGBUILD and corresponding output of makepkg that fails.

thx for the advise and the links!
I will try it in the next days.

The linked error report is from May 2015, glibc-2.22 upgpkg: glibc 2.22-1 so 2.22 was packaged in August 2015.
Is the issue still occurring today and if so what version of glibc are you using?

I was a little bit busy the last days and managed yesterday to finish my outstanding backups from my other OSs. So today i am going to install arch and try first without rebuilding the lib. (But i am pretty shure i tried it already with the 2.22 version)

So, i dont know if it is fixed with Unreal Engine 3.9 (released on Aug 31th) or the glibc library. But the problem is no more.
thx,
