Fresh install turn off problems

Hey guys,
So, this is my first post, since I`ve just installed arch for the first time on my machine. (UEFI dual boot with win7)
I am having problems to turn off and restart the computer. Everytime i choose either to turn off or restart, the notebook simply freezes to the point I'm only able to turn off by holding the power button.
I'm using gnome shell 3.16.3, dunno if it has anything to do with it...

I am having some other problems, but as soon as this one gets fixed i'll create new threads to fix them.

Thanks in advance

Re: Fresh install turn off problems

I suggest you issue the 'poweroff' command from a console, not from with X, so that you can read the shutdown messages.  What is the last thing it does?   After your reboot, post the output of journalctl --boot --no-pager

Re: Fresh install turn off problems

Ok, I kinda feel embarassed, the last 15 times i tried to reboot the computer it froze, the moment I powered off from a console, it imediatly shut off.
My journalctl --boot though is huge, because everytime I boot into arch I get this:
(I get a lot of lines from the nouveau error)

Sep 05 13:20:12 localhost kernel: nouveau E[ PFIFO][0000:01:00.0] runlist 4 update timeout
Sep 05 13:20:13 localhost kernel: cfg80211: Exceeded CRDA call max attempts. Not calling CRDA
Sep 05 13:20:27 localhost firefox.desktop[626]: (process:626): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

But I saw that there are solved threads about the nouveau error already.. hehe
I'll look into them

Re: Fresh install turn off problems

Sorry for double post, but i have figured it out. I was having problems on booting linux as well.
After reading some threads about the nouveau problems, i decided to install bumblebee. (I have hybrid graphics, intel+nvidia)
After the instalation, both the huge error logs on boot and power off, and the freezes on boots and shut downs ceased!
Thanks!
