Seamonkey (neither Firefox) doesn't start when I switch on my system

Most of the times (8 of 10) when I switch on my system and I start Seamonkey, it doesn't start automatically. It looks like the system doesn't recognize the order. I tried from the konsole as well with the same result.
I installed Firefox and apparently I have the same issue.
I installed Chromium as well and it works as expected.

The funny thing is that after a reasonable time (ca 4-5 minutes), if I try to start them again, they just work as expected.

I'm a bit puzzled and don't know what should I look for.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Which WM/DE are you using ?

Please post the konsole output when you try to start them manually.

Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.

Re: Seamonkey (neither Firefox) doesn't start when I switch on my system

Thanks for replying.
I'm using XFCE4 with Xfwm4. I use also ATI propietary drivers due to an incompatibility with my two screens.
Today, I catched the bug.
When it doesn't open:

┌─( david ) » { ~ }
└──┤ seamonkey

(process:1534): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

When it does (3 minutes later without changing anything):

┌─( david ) » { ~ }
└──┤ seamonkey

(process:1534): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_slice_set_config: assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' failed

Re: Seamonkey (neither Firefox) doesn't start when I switch on my system

I get " assertion 'sys_page_size == 0' " failed messages from GTK2 programs practically all the time without having problems, so those can be ignored.

if you wait 5+ minutes after starting your system, then start firefox or semonkey, do they start normally or also hang ?

Another thing to try is removing optional dependencies for seamonkey / firefox to see if they cause this.
