This is a strange issue I can't seem to get behind. I've been using wine to play Everquest 2 without issues for about a month, using a version of wine-staging I compiled myself. Now, out of the blue, the patcher says it can't connect to their servers. After some fiddling, I decide to nuke the prefix and reinstall, and it seems wine can't download mono or gecko either. Installing them with pacman gets around that, but the resulting patcher still can't connect to their servers. So I tried another game, in another prefix, Starcraft 2, which can't get a connection to its servers either.
Things I've tried:
Using stock wine instead of wine-staging
Using wine-staging installed with pacman instead of my custom compile
Multiple older versions of wine, by compiling them myself off git, both stock wine and staging.
Installing winhttp with winetricks
Installing nss-mdns and adding it to nsswitch.conf
Adding a line to /etc/hosts so my hostname resolves to my LAN IP
I'm out of ideas about things to try. This started yesterday. Here's a list of recently upgraded packages, just in case:

fixme:ole:RemUnknown_QueryInterface No interface for iid {00000019-0000-0000-c000-000000000046}Appears for both the launcher and ipconfig, and might hint at some issue wine might be having when identifying network interfaces. However, my primary network card appears just fine in the ipconfig listing.
Lastly, a friend of mine who also runs Everquest 2 under wine, but on Xubuntu, reports that it works just fine. The game also runs fine on Windows. So I suppose their servers are fine, and something happened to my system over the last ~3 days. I can't seem to pinpoint what it was, though. I have not touched my network config, and the upgraded packages do not seem related, aside from maybe libsystemd, since I use systemd-resolved for DNS. Things that do not use wine have no networking issues, however.

I had a similar issue, being unable to use Wine appliations to access the internet. I tried downgrading wine, to no avail. I don't have a lot of time to investigate, however, on a hunch, I downgrade libsystemd and systemd back to 224 and everything worked as expected. Perhaps give that a try.

Jackpot. Downgrading systemd and libsyustemd to 224 fixed it. I guess I'll be pinning systemd for a little while, and hope future versions resolve the issue. I don't expect anyone at systemd to care about wine. And chances are it's a transitory issue.

Yep, I can confirm this works. Battle.net wasn't working after the systemd upgrade. Downgrade it to 224 (and libsystemd) and things come back to life.
Thanks everyone!
