Hi guys,
It seems that the rkward packages from the aur was lost during the transition to aur4... I didn't keep a copy of the PKGBUILD and wanted to install rkward so I made a new, simple, PKGBUILD.
This is my first PKGBUILD, so I want to ask you to check if it is correct. It builds and rkward runs. namcap returns a few errors that, with my understanding, should not be a problem. ie katekdepart4 is really required, without it rkward do not run. I checked in a clean chroot using extra-build-x86_64, and it builds. So the last check is now the community check.
PKGBUILD:

oops... talk to fast there is an error during the install: rkward: /usr/share/apps/katepart/syntax/r.xml exists in filesystem
Will fix it, I think it is a conflict between rkward and kate both providing the syntax for r. Remove the one by rkward? the one by kate?

Remove the one in rkward. r.xml is part of kateparts4 and you depend on it.

It's not lost. You can get files from a mirror of the old AUR: http://pkgbuild.com/git/aur-mirror.git/tree/rkward

Thanks guys, I should have read the wiki better...
I will contact the maintainer see if he wants to re upload the PKGBUILD. If not I will adopt it. Anyway it was a good experience.
There is some small difference between my PKGBUILD and the old one, especially the last cleanup and the dependencies. I am now checking if mine is enough or not. Also I see that the post_install routine should be applied after upgrade which is logic, would be good if namcap gave a hint.

That is considerate, but be aware -- as a maintainer, we received plenty of notice that the transition was in process. There were a full two months in which to respond.
That is an indication of a lack of interest. It is not considered bad form to just adopt. It is, however considered bad form to move it then immediately orphan it. Recently there have been some packages that were moved and orphaned that were then quickly removed by a TU.

How to Ask Questions the Smart Way

I mailed the previous maintainer. I will give him one week, then if I get no answer I will adopt the package.
rkward do not have a crazy release pace so I should be able to keep up to date and maintain it.
During that week I will test my package and learn how to upload to the aur.
Cheers

While looking for the RKward AUR package, I saw this thread. Thank you for adopting the package, seal20!
You posted about two weeks ago that you were giving the previous maintainer one week to reply.
Any news on this?
I'd love to see RKward properly restored to and maintained on the AUR again, so I'd say "Go for it", I'll cheer you on ![]()

Here you are. If you find any problem in the PKGBUILD, please tell me. I tested the build on my pc and it works fine for me.

Seems to work fine so far here as well. Thank you again, also for your quick reaction!
