ivtv 0.6.1-2 appears broken

I did an upgrade today and after figuring out why the nvidia driver wouldn't load (I had to manually delete libGL.so among other files), I discovered that my PVR-150's wouldn't work.  Everything appears to load correctly including the firmware, but I was unable to get anything out of them.  After downgrading to 0.4.2 they work perfectly again.  I didn't have time to debug since I'm running a MythTV system that is constantly recording.

Scratch that.  Now I get video, but I'm unable to change channels.  I'm now downgrading to 2.6.15.

EDIT:

Everything is back to normal after downgrading the kernel and ivtv.  I'll just hold at 2.6.15 and 0.4.2 until I have more time.

Re: ivtv 0.6.1-2 appears broken

i had the same problem. i went through and used slocate to clean out all the places the firmware was, including the firmware installed with pacman. then following http://ivtvdriver.org/index.php/Firmware put the firmware in /lib/firmware/ where pacman will put it instead of where the wiki said.

to get ivtvfwextract.pl, download the ivtv src tarball

to get v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg, copy /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ivtv-0.6.1-2.pkg.tar.gz to a tmp dir and extract it. the file you want are ivtv/lib/firmware/v4l-cx2341x-init.mpg.

so in the end i suppose there a firmware file missing. i didn't pay attention to see which one, was jones'n for tv wink

enjoy
