wired connection not working

hello! i'm new to linux and i just booted my installation cd however arch linux doesn't seem to detect ethernet
when i booted with evo/lution the internet was detected.
What steps do i take to make arch linux detect my wired internet?

sorry i'm really new so please explain every step that i have to take

When you reach:"Install Desktop" in the Evo/Lution-AIS installer there was an option: 3. Install Network Connection Manager.
There you should choose for wired: dhcpcd.
You can read in the link from jasonwryan how to enable and start the dhcpcd service.

Oh wait, but the package is already part of the base group when you install arch linux.
There you go with the confusion with an semi-automated install. You should try and install arch manually for a better understanding.

OP was referring to the Arch Linux Installation ISO, not an installed system.

I guess the question is misleading as he mentioned evo/lution disk as well. He probably booted after the evo/lution ais scripts into the existing fresh installed arch.
Then he had no internet connection.
Anyways, I tried to point him to manually install arch instead of using semi-automated scripts.
