ttf-dejavu has been flagged outdated since May 17
It has been flagged outdated since the day there was an update, and it hasn't been updated in the official repositories yet.
I cannot find a way to contact Jan de Groot, the maintainer, because his name links to his package list, not to his email.
What do?

Don't give up after the first link isn't what you wanted? Via www.archlinux.org you can find overviews of developers and TUs with contact information. And there are always search engines to fall back on.
